President's Message from the February 2010 Chaptergram:

As I begin to enter "lame duck" status, our board meetings are turning to strategic planning - which means focusing on the future for the organization, and developing new leaders for the chapter.

I am so pleased that Royanna Carle, CPCU is ready to take over as President in a few months! As she and the board begin to plan for 2010 and beyond, the Chapter is looking for new CPCU's to get involved. There will be a couple openings on the board of directors this spring, and we need folks to work on things like planning the annual convention, good works events, a new website, etc. Now would be a great time to get involved!

Let's interrupt this message with a little experiment: send me an email (listed below) AFTER 8:00 AM CST ON MONDAY, FEBRUARY 1 - the first twenty-five people who do will get one dollar and my thanks, and I'll buy lunch for the very first respondent. (DISCLAIMER: MN Chapter Officers and Directors are not eligible for this offer).

Back to the news… Pat Kelly, CPCU and Maureen Georgou, CPCU have coordinated a strong lineup of meetings scheduled through the spring, and we have some cool new things that are just around the corner: launching the new website, developing "CPCU Champions" in local employers, and a couple other big deals that we can't wait to announce!

Calendar note: Jim Stoops, CPCU has scheduled the Slaughter Memorial Golf Tournament: Wednesday June 16. It is a great event that funds scholarships for kids that are studying insurance in college!

Let us know if you'd like to get involved - either on the board or in some other way. You'll find that this is a great group of people!
