2007-2008 Circle of Excellence — Gold

The Minnesota Chapter CPCU Society earned the Gold Circle of Excellence Award for 2007 - 2008!

Thanks for visiting the Minnesota Chapter web site.

President's Message from the June 2009 Chaptergram:

"As the sun sets slowly in the west…"

It was been my distinct pleasure to serve as your Minnesota Chapter President this year.

Our Chapter continues to be a leader among all Chapters countrywide, and I am consistently amazed by what we accomplish each year as a Chapter on behalf of our members, our local insurance industry, and our community. I am equally impressed by our passionate volunteers led by an ever strengthening Board of Directors. Thank you to all of you.

Here is a quick look at this year's activities:

Key Accomplishments:

• Our marquee event All Industry Day was successful once again with strong attendance. This year was highlighted by having CPCU Society President, Marvin Kelly presiding.

• Our Chapter continued its national leadership in presenting seven CPCU, Center For Leadership and National Technical seminars.

• The Chapter conducted seven monthly meetings, including over fifty members attending a networking social at a Minnesota Twins game, joint meetings with MN PLUS and MN RIMS, and an Ethics Month social.

• The Good Works Committee continued its mission to build our community through the MN Warm Project, Toys for Tots, Feed My Starving Children, TPT Pledge Drive and I35E clean up.

• Chapter representatives participated in an Education Fair at Country Financial.

• The Member Candidate Support Program's participation grew significantly.

• We recognized key volunteers for their years of dedication to the Chapter at All Industry Day. Dara Deal, Shelly Grogan, and Todd Johnson. Additionally we recognized Western National as a Champion for our Chapter.

• We sponsored events and attendees at the CPCU Society's National Leadership Summit and the Annual Meeting and Seminars.

• The monthly MN Chaptergrams were delivered timely and packed with valuable information.

• We contributed to the Loman Education Foundation and the Minnesota Chapter CPCU Scholarship Foundation in support of scholarships to local insurance students.

While this is a look back, our future looks bright with new active members and new ideas. Mike Happe, CPCU is our Chapter's incoming President for '09-'10 and will certainly lead our Chapter with great energy.

Thank you again for a memorable year.

"As the sun sets slowly in the west we bid a fond farewell to all the friends we've made... and, with a touch of melancholy, we look forward to the time when we will all be together again." - True Romance, 1993.

Cordially yours,

Matt Clysdale, CPCU
